Beginning Sewing



Learn to sew! A class for beginners or a refresher for those who haven't sewn in a while.

Learn how to operate your machine and do basic straight stitching & seams. In class, you will learn about thread, needles, parts of the machine & basic operation of your machine. You will also learn how to make a small sewing pouch for your sewing tools.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: All skill levels welcome. Must have your own sewing machine to bring to class. If you don't know how to use your machine, make sure to bring the instruction manual.
Requirements: Sewing machine, thread, bobbins, pins, scissors, seam ripper. See store for full supply list.
Instructor: Patti Taylor
Instructor Bio: Patti Taylor is an avid quilter, having many years of experience in various fiber and fabric arts. She learned to sew on her mother's Singer Featherweight--which she still has-- at the age of 9, eventually making most of her own clothes through high school and college, as well as learning needlepoint, cross stitch and tatting. She made her 1st quilt in 1979 but didn't really get involved with the hobby until 1992--and it's been non-stop ever since! Patti has taught sewing and quilting to various age levels from Mini-4H to adults in both small and large group settings including 10 years teaching high school Home Ec.
