Let's Start At The VERY Beginning!



Want to learn to sew but have absolutely no idea where to start? This 2 part class will cover the parts of the machine, basic terminology & machine operation, and how to sew seams. In-class practice will include making 2 community service projects and a small sewing patch for yourself!


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: No prior knowledge required. Everyone is welcome!
Materials Included: Handouts, materials for 2 community service projects.
Requirements: Sewing machine w/manual, thread, bobbins, scissors, pins
Instructor: Patti Taylor
Instructor Bio: Patti Taylor is an avid quilter, having many years of experience in various fiber and fabric arts. She learned to sew on her mother's Singer Featherweight--which she still has-- at the age of 9, eventually making most of her own clothes through high school and college, as well as learning needlepoint, cross stitch and tatting. She made her 1st quilt in 1979 but didn't really get involved with the hobby until 1992--and it's been non-stop ever since! Patti has taught sewing and quilting to various age levels from Mini-4H to adults in both small and large group settings including 10 years teaching high school Home Ec.
