Learn a method for making realistic landscape art from fabric and thread.
I have always expressed my love of nature and beauty through art, but I did not find my medium until I found fabrics about six years ago. Whether working from photographs that I or friends have taken or from my imagination, I love the challenge of using commercially available fabrics to create quilted artworks that look like paintings with an impressionistic style. My goal is to make pieces that are realistic and made solely from fabric and thread. I do not use paints or other marking tools to create art.
My work has been shown in many quilt shows including Pacific Northwest Quilt Expo, Quilters Anonymous, and North Central Washington Quilt Guild, receiving several first and second place awards. My work has also been exhibited at Pacific Regent- Bellevue WA, Shelton Arts Commission, Sunshine Creations Gallery, and the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum's special exhibit, "The Boys Are Back in Town."
