Serger 101C

In this class you will:
Make Piping
Make Double Piping
Insert Piping Straight
Inset Piping on a Curve
Make a ruffle
Insert a zipper
Make a Lettuce edge on knits
Use a Decorative thread
Using a Thread Cradle

Project: Lined zipper bag with boxed edges
Piped edge tissue cover

Fabric scraps for practice 3x22" x 2 for ruffle
1 1/2"x12" two of these for piping (this should coordinate with your fat quarter for the zipper bag)
1 1/2"x12" two of these for piping (different color than above)
Fat Quarter for your sipper bag and piped edge tissue cover
2 fat quarters to attach pipig and ruffles
2 -  18" zippers, one that coordinates with the fabric for the the zipper bag
12 wt cotton thread or wooly nylon, some sort of decorative thread
Regular foot, Ruffle foot, Piping or cording foot

Instructor Bio:
Janice West has several Martha Pullen certifications in serging and is soon to be Kimberbell Certified. She has been a Northern California resident for over 60 years and lives in Corning with her husband. After a 45 year career as a registered nurse, Janice is retired and spends her days focused on her many hobbies. When she isn?t doing machine embroidery or serging she can be found cooking and making home decor items and other trendy things using her Die Cutters, Cricut, and Silhouette Cameo4.

Janice is an excellent teacher who is patient, kind, and able to help her students feel intelligent and realize how much they can accomplish. Her classes are fun, informative, and a joy to take.
